a missionary

Well, in honor of it being one month until I leave for my mission, I figured now is as good a time as ever to share how I feel about it all.

I received my call on September 13, 2013. I was kind enough to wait until the mailman had moved to the next mail box before I went to check it. I had confiscated all of the mail keys, so it's not like any one else really had the option to check the mail. Anywho, both of my parents happen to be home that day, and dad filmed me checking the mail. Totally worth it, because there was my letter from the Office of the First Presidency!!

Seeing my name and Christ's name on the same envelope was totally awesome and exhilarating.

Well, I had to contain all the excitement for quite a few hours. Not only did I have to work, but there was a football game some friends and family went to, so I had to wait for them to get home! But I was able to skype my beautiful friend Katie so she could watch me open it, and I called my darling Jasmine to listen. I had quite a few friends there; AJ Frazier, Emma, Claudia, and Lousia Hunter, Kayla Grover, Aubrey Snyder, Tatiana, Tenari and Brother Aiasau, and of course my family.

I have been called to serve in the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission. I leave December 18th, 2013. I'll be speaking English. I am SO excited.

I know the Lord needs me here and now. He has blessed me in so many ways to get where I need to be. I have 2 amazing jobs, an amazing family, Sister Missionaries were assigned to our ward, and so many other things that have just set everything in place. Satan is working extra hard so I can't hear my Father, but I know He is still there. I don't have to see Him to know that. I may not hear Him, but He hears me. He knows me. He loves me. And He loves you.

I'm nervous, sure. But I have no doubt in my mind that I am where I should be. Where I need to be. I am excited to grow, to learn, to endure. Most importantly, I am excited to share how much God loves us! How Christ saved us. To share that we can be truly happy, eternally happy.

Until next time,
Sister Hendricks
